Bryko Builders Providers
We wanted to build a sandpit to encourage sand-nesting invertebrates to the microWild site. But what is a sandpit without sand? Bryko very generously offered a few tonnes of sand to get us up and running.

Snickers Workwear
Surveying requires being out and about in all types of weather and terrain. A friend introduced me to Snickers Workwear Ireland and they have now generously offered to kit me out in their best clothes, from boots to beanie hat and everything in between. Surveying in style!

Radius Office Furniture
Running a biodiversity project requires a lot of moving parts as well as a lot of storage space. Radius were kind enough to donate an office storage unit which currently holds books, microscopes, trays, and nets among other things.

Anglers World
One thing that was evident from watching the microWild pond progress over its first year was that it needed some serious post summer TLC. Paul, from Anglers World has made this easier by providing some waders and weeding tools to help.

Noyeks
One of our goals was to build a “beetle box”. A microhabitat for saproxylic beetles (beetles that nest in dead wood). Of course, this would require a wood suitable for outdoor us. Noyeks gave us a couple of sheets of marine plywood which allowed us to complete this part of the project at no cost.

Cóilín Ó Tuathail Building Contractor
As inexperienced woodworkers, the thought of building a professional bee and wasp cavity nesting box was daunting and sent shivers down our spine. Cóilín took on the job with fervour and produced a stunning creation. A true piece of art!

MSS LTD
We needed a lot of ‘bits and bobs’ to build our sandpit to a high standard. Metal unistruts, end caps, washers and galvanised spray could have been a large expense for the project. MSS kindly stepped in and covered us for all of the above.

All Ireland Scaffolding
You want to build a raised-bed sandpit but don’t know where to start? Do you buy expensive sleepers? No! All Ireland Scaffolding provided us with more than enough scaffolding planks to build our sandpit and a few extra to place around the meadow edge as invertebrate habitats.
